The project consists of five work packages:
Management and coordination of the project is run by the Lead Partner, the City of Helsinki Environment Centre. This work package aims in establishing functional and fruitful cooperation among the project partners, target groups and other stakeholders, as well as fluent communication both within and outside the project.
This work package develops action plans for the partner organisations and invites local actors from Estonia, Latvia and Sweden to join the water protection work. Good examples of voluntary actions at the local level will be compiled into a handbook. The package is run by the City of Helsinki Environment Centre.
This work package produces awareness raising and general information material targeted to private citizens as well as civil servants in municipalities. The focus is on the state of the Baltic Sea and on the role of local actors in water protection work. The package is run by Tallinn City Government Environment Department.
The work package will promote dialog among civil servants, politicians, NGO's and researchers. The package will create platforms for exchange of ideas and experiences on the water protection work and arrange training seminars with high-level expert lecturers. The work package is run by Centrum Balticum.
This work package gathers ideas for local and cross-border investments related to water protection in cities and municipalities and prepares well though-out investment plans and feasibility studies, based on local needs. The package is run by the City of Turku.
