The Baltic Sea Challenge News
Baltic Sea Challenge seminar discussed economic life and water protection workThe third Baltic Sea Challenge seminar, organised in Turku on the 8th of October, brought together more than 50 Baltic Sea actors from Southwest Finland, Satakunta Region and the metropolitan area. Despite various backgrounds, the actors all shared a strong common will to protect the Baltic Sea.
The Mayors of Turku and Helsinki, Mr. Mikko Pukkinen and Mr. Jussi Pajunen, extended the Baltic Sea Challenge in spring 2009 to large companies. Some 25 companies in Finland and abroad have now taken on the Challenge and made a commitment to protection work. Thus, this year the seminar concentrated on the efforts and possibilities of economic life in voluntary water protection work.
