Clean Beach
events in four cities and three countries
Cities of Helsinki, Tallinn, St. Petersburg and Turku organized in co-operation Clean Beach events on 23 April 2016. Installations were made of the collected trash in the cities, and they were photographed to a digital show. Also a joint video of the events was made. The videos had their world premiere this week in the European Maritime Day (EMD) in Turku! The concept of the trash installations was created by artist Kristiina “Tikke” Tuura in all participating cities.
The Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Karmenu Vella, visited the trash art concept's mother Kristiina "Tikke" Tuura's trash installation stand during the EMD in Turku in May 2016.
