Tools for Water Protection and the Bank of Actions

Local actors promoting water protection often encounter several challenges. These might be related to the need for raising local awareness, finding economic or ecological arguments for the activity or finding examples of measures or funding instruments that gave been realized or utilized by peers.

The Tools for Water Protection portal was created during the CITYWATER Project. With it the Baltic Sea Challenge Bank of Actions was renewed. The portal is a web-based toolbox providing support for implementing water protection actions at local level. It is designed for professionals and experts who do concrete work, strategic planning or make decisions on water protection in cities, municipalities, companies, NGOs or other organisations.

There you find background information and tools as well as examples and practical tips on water protection measures implemented. Within the Toolbox there is the Bank of Actions, a map full of inspiring and useful examples of practical water protection actions. You can add your own water protection action to the Bank with the Share your action electronic form.
