Cities for a Healthier Sea

The project aimed at:

  • improving the state of the coastal waters and the entire Baltic Sea by implementing water protection measures on a voluntary basis (actions not required by the law) at a local level
  • developing action and investment plans for the project partners
  • increasing awareness of the state of the Baltic Sea among civil servants and general public
  • activating other actors such as cities / municipalities, NGOs and schools to take part in the work for a healthier sea and strengthen their commitment e.g. by means of awareness raising and concrete action plans
  • promoting the dialog between civil servants, politicians, researchers and other actors
